Dr. Rubinstein is by far the best Vet I have ever had. He has a great way of dealing with difficult animals. I was told by an emergency clinic that my little kitten, Jade, needed to be put down. She was only 4 months old and they said she had FIV. Dr. Rubinstein received notice that Jade saw the emergency vet and called me immediately that Sunday night to check on her. He said he wanted to see her first thing Monday morning and we could make a decision on her treatment. She was so little and so innocent that it would have been very hard for me to put her down.
After Dr. Rubinstein looked at her he said she was really a fighter and he wanted to do a blood transfusion and a weekly treatment of ImmunoRegulin for a few weeks, which was eventually decreased to every other week, then stopped. He used his office cat Bonnie for the procedure.
After a few months passed after stopping treatment, he tested her again and NO FIV!!! She made a full recovery and is now a happy, healthy (well, a little bit “fluffy” around the middle) 7 year old cat. She wouldn’t be alive if it was not for Dr. Rubinstein. He is an amazing vet!

Our Center is so very fortunate to have the support of Park Avenue Animal Hospital and Drs. Rick Rubinstein and John Turgai. As supporters of our Center, Park Avenue Animal Hospital (PAAH) has joined ARC in our quest to bring hawks, owls, eagles, and other birds of prey back to nature, by providing medical support to our vast array of magnificent birds of prey. The services they provide to our Center are phenomenal and do so much to help us provide quality veterinarian care. Their professional approach to all animal care is apparent every time we come to see them, whether we need x-rays, surgery or other diagnostics the Doctors and their excellent staff are always ready to help.

Park Avenue Animal Clinic provides the very best in veterinary services to both the clients and their pets. They understand that our pets are very special members of our families. The staff is caring and compassionate, with an obvious devotion to putting the health of our pets first.
I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Rubinstein in 2005 when he provided medical services for my Sadie. Because of his support for the protection and welfare of abandoned, feral, and homeless cats, Sadie had a chance to live out her life in a loving home without bringing more unwanted kittens into the world. The first day I met Dr. Rick I was impressed by his kind and compassionate manner. He is not only a highly professional and competent doctor; but he is also a very warm and sweet man
I am so grateful that recently I was able to have another homeless cat “Sam” treated by Dr. Rick. Sam is an old cat that was always roaming the neighborhood begging for food.
His mouth was a disaster and he had a large ugly cyst on the side of his neck. He was also
wheezing loudly with asthma. He had two bad teeth removed, his gums treated and the cyst removed from his neck. He also received medication for his asthma. Thanks again to Dr. Rick, Sam is now doing great.
The kind, caring and friendly demeanor demonstrated by the doctors and the staff of PAAC is to be appreciated by all who visit your clinic. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your kindness will always be remembered.
Sincerely,Nelda Leach

My family wants to thank the ENTIRE staff at Park Ave Animal Hospital for their love they showed when we recently lost our StewieLu. I could not have asked for a more caring and loving group of individuals who take their job to their hearts. We unexpectedly lost our cat of 11yrs just 2 weeks ago today. When panic overcame rationale in a hectic moment, the staff did the thinking for my 2 daughters and me. We came in with a very sad and crying Stewie who ended up passing away in Dr R's arms. It was like she was waiting to pass in a protective environment. We have used this animal hospital on all of our animals (and we have many) and will continue to do so. In fact, We are in the process of adopting a kitten from Candy's Cats who has been already taken care of by this staff for her shots and spaying! It takes a very special person to care for animals and we are very lucky to have the entire Staff at Park Ave Animal Hospital who do just that, EVERY DAY! Thank you Dr. R, Amber, Jessica, Barbara and all those behind the scenes!!
Kindest Regards,
The Broadie Family (patients for life!)

Hello,
I am a feline rescuer. I have had my share of vet clinics. Myself and others have found Park Ave. Clinic's doctors and staff to be the most professional, comforting and most of all "caring places" to go with your animals.
I came across an injured dachshund that jumped off a bed and could not walk.....An emergency visit: with exam, e-rays and medication made Prince's prognosis very bad.
Then we went to Park Ave. Animal Clinic and Prince is now doing 99% better and we got him in a new loving home with patient and gentle people. Before we could place Prince we had several visits to Park Ave with Prince. I thought it would be hundreds of dollars and I was under a lot of stress and in tears because he couldn't walk anymore......the bill came to about as much as a grocery bill would be. I was in shock and oh so pleased. Park Ave Vets know that all my animals are rescues and there is NO way I would have gotten Prince in a loving new home if he could not walk......Park Avenue vets and staff are so very kind and caring and I am so very grateful they are there.......whenever I have an urgent or emergency situation they always find a way to get me in ASAP......I am so grateful for the loving, kind and knowledgeable staff...

Hi Animal Friends,
My Name is JP and I have been doing animal rescue volunteer work for about 15 years. I find nothing in life equal to the tender loving face and eyes of a rescued animal. I got to know Dr. Rick at his previous practice in Oviedo -- The 1st day I met Dr. Rick I was taken by his kind and caring "bedside manner" with both animals and their Human companions. He has such a reassuring calmness about him and he has taken such good care of so many of my animals. I seem to take on the older animals with some health issues. Dr. Rick took such good care of LL Bean my Blue Dobbie Rescue, along with many others.
I then met his partner Dr. John and he is a warm wonderful calm gentle man with the animals. Dr. John is the vet I saw when I took Pattycake my 100 pound American Bull Dog rescue......she had a growth on one eye and heartworms !!! He had the growth off and her eye stopped all the drainage and he also treated her for her heartworms. Pattycake is doing so well now. I would also like to say a huge "Thank You" to all the warm and wonderful staff........from the moment I walk in the front to the end of my visit everyone is so kind and caring.....it takes a very special group of people to do what they do. When I bring all my "animal kids" to them I feel like they are in the best of hands. I am so grateful that our path's crossed---it has been such good fortune for my animals and me.
Thank You PAAH for being there.......YOU ROCK
Love,
JP McMeins and All of My Rescues

This is a hard one to write, but thank you to everyone in the office for your concern and care.
The first time we brought Freckles in everyone was attentive and considerate of our situation. The follow-up phone calls from Dr. Turgai himself, and all that he was willing to do to improve and prolong our dogs life: THANK YOU!
Later, when there was nothing else we could do, the staff set up a room for us, took their time in talking with us and were so sensitive to what was about to happen. They took our young son out into the other room set him up with cartoons and gave him a stuffed animal. They incouraged us to take our time saying goodbye.
Then just yesterday, we received a card that had personal messages written by the staff that was there the day Freckles was put to sleep. Everything they did and continue to do amazes me because they honestly do care about what they are doing. I hope that you all continue in the great work you are doing.
thank you so much.

When we had an accident at home and one of our dogs was injured, I panicked because it was a Sunday morning & I dreaded having to take her to the emergency vet. I called the after hours number first and Dr. Rick answered. He had me meet him at the office within the hour. It was such a relief! He is a very caring vet! Everyone at this office is very friendly. They make you feel welcomed and seem to truly care about your pets.

Dear Dr. Rubinstein and Staff,
We would like to thank you all so very much for your time and care during our visit on June 26, 2009 with Pup and Rocky Hidalgo. Both Pup and Rocky received their check-up to enable them to travel with us to Canada. We wanted to let you know that you have created a beautiful facility that exceeds expectations and brings true "pet care" to another level. Many can build big beautiful facilities, but few can actually deliver on quality, competent and proficient pet care. Your building is so quaint and homey and from the outside you gather that it must have this "small town" feel to it. Upon walking in you all certainly deliver on the old fashioned customer service feel. Immediately you feel welcome and comfortable. So thank you very much!
Pup and Rocky had a wonderful time in Canada! They enjoyed smelling new scents and eating different grass. We thought we would pass along a few photos of their journey in both Thunder Bay Canada and Gatlinbutg TN. In addition, a big "thank you" to you and your staff.
We are certainly doing all we can to spread the word that Park Avenue Animal Hospital is a wonderful place.

We would like to say Thank you, to Dr. John and the staff. We were very upset, when we found out of dog was sick, and the operation, was very costly. We had called around to to other vets, and the cost kept getting higher and higher, Then when we called Park Avenue Vets, and told them what was wrong with our dog, and what we had already had done, they worked with us, and now our family pet is back to her normal self. If it wasn't for Park Ave. Vets. we would not have our dog now. Your staff is GREAT! very friendly and greets, the clients with smiles. These people truely love the job they are doing. I would highly recommend you to everyone! Thank you so much, even Blackie is happy we found you.
Thank you!
The Mroz Family.

How to say thank you for all you do. In almost 4 years of rescue, Dr. Rick and Dr. John are the first vets who agreed to meet with our foster volunteers and teach them the principles of good foster care for the kittens and cats that come into our care. How often do I call late in the day with a situation that is responded to with "come on in" - even when it is at the end of the day. Your staff is professional, caring and we are so grateful for all you do to help us help those discarded by irresponsible people.
Your office is so clean, your equipment on the cutting edge and your staff is dedicated. It's nice to see people who truly love their jobs - unlike other offices where you can see the employees are not there because they like the boss but because it's a pay check.
On behalf of Candy's Cats, thank you so much. We are so grateful.

Thank you so much for your kindness. I am so grateful that there are wonderful people like you and Dr. Rick in this world. You make it a better place. I really miss Dr. Rick's kindness and wonderful dogside and catside manner. He has such a kind, genuine spirit and he truly was meant for the animal profession. I think there are so few out there like him in the animal world. Please know how much so many people appreciate you and your "bedside" manner. Dr. Rick you have no idea how many people I talked to at Petsmart while doing animal adoptions and when I would always ask "who there vet was" and "how did they like there vet" the response from your patients was always met with this beautiful calm smile on their face (the same way I smile when I think of you and your care) and then they would always tell me how much they liked you. Then and only then did I tell them that you were our vet and that you did so much work for the rescue group and you were so generous with your services and help towards the rescue group.
Thank you so much for all the great work you do for so many rescue groups. I'm not sure people say thank you --- I appreciate everything you do.....
Sincerely,
JP McMeins
